CEBU, Philippines - When his term as president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) ends this coming November, Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma will be hosting a TV program at the Catholic Community Television Network (CCTN) Channel 47.

Palma confirmed yesterday that he already assured CCTN that by December, he will have a program with the local TV network, which already has a tentative title of  “Lakaw sa Simbahan”.

“This is my way of reaching out to all the people, especially katong naa sa layo, ug ang mensahe sa atong Ginoo makaabot gyud sa tanan. (This is my way of reaching out to all the people, especially those that are far, so that the message of the Lord would reach them),” Palma shared.

The program would somehow follow a commentary-pattern where talks about life as a Church would be aired as well as how to understand the centrality of the Lord. He shared that the basic format of the program is more on reflection and on posing challenges to the people.

“This privilege is a gift from the Lord. This is how we can show how compassionate we are to one another, on how we get closer to the Lord and establishing God’s kingdom,” Palma said.

“Nagtuo ko nga bahin sa ministry sa simbahan, ang pulpit importante gayud sa pagpaambit sa maayong balita. Ug sa akong nakita usab, importante na pod karun ang radio ug TV programs. (I believe that with the ministry of the church, the pulpit is very important in sharing the good news. On what I have seen, radio and TV programs are now also very important),” Palma stated.  (FREEMAN)
