On August 4, Sunday Traffic advisory for Ironman 70.3

CEBU, Philippines - Motorists are advised to avoid seaport roads on August 4, Sunday for the international triathlon event Ironman.

Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (CITOM) yesterday released the traffic plan for the second installation of Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines in Cebu.

While it is set to start and end in Lapu-Lapu City, the 70.3 kilometer route includes the coastal part of Cebu City.

With this, CITOM announced in advance road closure and rerouting scheme.

Totally closed to traffic is the entire Serging Osmeña Boulevard, from the Mahiga bridge leading to Legaspi Extension, as well as the underpass going straight to South Road Properties (SRP) from 5:00 o’clock in the morning until 12 noon.

The only access for vehicles heading toward the seaport area is through Legaspi Extension passing through Arellano Boulevard or through the entrance of Pier 1.

Trucks, vans, trailers and other motor vehicles coming from the South going to SM or to North Area shall follow N. Bacalso Ave. to P. del Rosario St. towards the Imus New Road and then to the North Reclamation Area.

Trucks, vans, trailers and other motor vehicles coming from the North Reclamation Area going to the South are advised to pass along the North Road to M.J. Cuenco Ave. and proceed to N. Bacalso Ave. towards their point of destination.

Vehicles coming from Tabunok, Talisay; Minglanilla, Naga, San Fernando and Carcar who wants to go to the North Reclamation Area are advised to pass through N. Bacalso Ave. to Imus New Road and then to their destination. — (FREEMAN)
