CEBU, Philippines - The Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 arrested the brother of Agus, Lapu-Lapu City Barangay Captain Remigio Oyao in a buy-bust operation Monday afternoon.

Suspect Erlandie Oyao, a member of the Oyao Group, allegedly sold a big pack of shabu worth P25,000 to a poseur buyer.

Erlandie was allegedly repacking shabu inside his house when the PDEA agents arrived and stopped for a while to transact with the police decoy who used a P500 bill on top of a wad of papers cut into the size of money.

Also recovered were 54 small packs of shabu on the table and two large packs of cocaine.

The subject was under surveillance for almost one month.  Erlandie is one of the three Oyao siblings involved in the group together with some of their cousins.

Oyao was described as a level one drug pusher who can dispose more than a P1 million worth of shabu in a week.

His market includes the cities of Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue and Cebu.

PDEA 7 spokesman Jessie Tabanao said that Oyao was arrested in the past also for drugs but the case was dismissed.

In a separate operation, operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group conducted a simultaneous buy-bust operation in Barangay Camputhaw late  Monday night.

Arrested were Donald Policar, Rodrigo Lerion, and Loreto Repollo who are allegedly street pushers.

During interrogation, the suspects admitted they are “runners” who earn a little commission in every pack they can sell.  But they said they do not know their supplier.

Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7 is set to file criminal complaints before the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office against the eight suspects arrested last Monday in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Talamban.Jhonilito Mayol, who was the subject of the buy bust, and other suspects, namely Anna Roa, Romeo Baylon, Junrey Anseo, Archie Cabrellos, Ferdinand Jugador, Jonthan Cortes and Christopher Dizon will be facing complaints for possession and selling of illegal drugs.

Separate complaint for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition will be filed against Baylon.

During the operation, the NBI operatives recovered from Baylon’s possession a homemade 9mm submachine gun and ammunition.

Also seized were six big packs and one small pack of shabu estimated to worth P1.5 million and drugs paraphernalia.

Pagatpat said their operation was in response to the call of Mayor Michael Rama to intensify campaign against illegal drugs.

Pagatpat said they were amazed to see a signage in the area that says “parking area for shabu users only.” — (FREEMAN)
