CEBU, Philippines - An international award-giving body on marketing in the Philippines has named outgoing Cebu fifth district Rep. Ramon “Red” Durano VI as one of the 20 Most Outstanding Congressman in the 15th Congress.

Among the awardees, Durano is the only one in the region to receive the award.

Superbrands Marketing International Inc. said they recognized the achievements of Philippine legislators hoping that the award will encourage them to continue their good work and to inspire others to do likewise.

Durano, who is on his third and last term, said he was overwhelmed and grateful to be chosen by Superbrands Marketing.  It was his first time to receive the award.

Durano is the newly elected vice mayor of Danao City in tandem with his father, mayor-elect Ramon “Nito” Durano III, who has also held the position before.

Durano said the welfare of his constituents has always been his priority and they inspired him to do his best.

“I am honored to receive the award,” Durano said.

He authored 20 House measures and co-authored 47 others.  Among those he authored are House Bill 897 or the Act Rationalizing the Management of the Natural Resources in Camotes Islands; HB 899 or the Act Creating Additional Regional Trial Court branch in Danao City; and HB 2775 the Act Establishing a National High School in Barangay Ibo, City of Danao.
