CEBU, Philippines - Three persons are in serious condition after the motorcycle-for-hire they were riding collided with a tricycle on the national highway of Barangay Mainit, Naga City yesterday morning.

The motorcycle with temporary plate number 7R-2005 driven by Claro Villarmia, of Barangay Uling was traveling at a high speed when it collided with the tricycle (2624GN) driven by Camilo Alferes, of Barangay Pangdan at around 9:20a.m.

The incident injured Villarmia, his live-in partner Mary Ann Alfetche, 25 and July Lane Saguisabal, 21.

The victims were rushed to the South General Hospital.

Bystanders at the place alleged that the motorcycle encroached on the opposite lane where the tricycle was traveling.

“Kurbadahon ang dalan diha unya wala na kabawi dayon kay nikawat man pud ni ug gamay ang tricycle,” PO1 Diosdado Namang, desk officer, said.

Both Alferes and his lone passenger were not injured as the motorcycle hit the right portion of the tricycle.

Alferes and his passenger fled on foot after the incident.

Meanwhile, a motorcycle-for-hire driver, who was reported missing for two days, was found dead at the mountain barangay of Lubo, Sogod Tuesday afternoon.

The man who was wearing a white t-shirt and checkered cargo pants was identified as Edgel Batiquin, 29, of Barangay Sandayong Sur, Danao City. He was identified by his family.

Geneveve Brigoli was gathering firewood at the area when she discovered the body with a nylon rope tied in the neck and covered with leaves.
