Gabii sa Kabilin 2013: Cosplay Contest

Rules and Mechanics

1.         The Gabii sa Kabilin (GSK) Cosplay Contest is open to all individuals participating in the Gabii sa Kabilin 2013, on May 31, 2013.

2.         All contestants must present themselves in the costume or character related to theme of Gabii sa Kabilin and/or Cebuano heritage.

3.         There will be an on on-site registration for the GSK Cosplay contest on May 31, 2013 at Jose R. Gullas Halad Museum from 6:00pm-7:00pm.

4.         There will be an entry limit for the cosplay contest. The Organizers will accept the first 15 male cosplayers and first 15 female cosplayers.

5.         Cosplayers will be given number tags that must be worn at all times.

6.         All 30 cosplayers (both male and female) will be judged in three heritage sites on May 31, 2013 during the Gabii sa Kabilin run from 7:00pm until 9:00pm, as follows and in any order:

A.        Jose R. Gullas Halad Museum

B.        USPF Rizaliana Museum

C.        Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House

7.         Upon arrival at the destination, each contestant shall present their number tag (along with the GSK ticket) to the museum staff at hand to be guided to the judging corner. Each destination/heritage site will have a member of the judging panel stationed at the site.

8.         All Cosplay contestants will be judged based on this criteria:

50 points Costume and Relevance

30 points Craftmanship and Creativity

20 points Showmanship and Overall Impact

9.         Dangerous articles or props that may cause harm to people (fellow cosplayers, event staff and attendees) and/or render damage to the venue or museum property is strictly prohibited.

10.       The GSK Cosplay contest organizers will not be held liable for any damage or injury resulting from the mishandling and/or negligence of a cosplayer in his/her use of costume props throughout the duration of the event.

11.       The Organizers reserve the right to adjust rules of this competition in any way it sees fit. The Judges’ decisions are final and irrevocable.

12.       The Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any cosplayer who ignores and/or violates any of the aforementioned guidelines.

13.       Each male and female cosplayer will be awarded the following prizes:

1stPlace – Php 2,500 worth of SM gift certificates

2ndPlace – Php 1,500 worth of SM gift certificates

3rdPlace – Php 1,000 worth of SM gift certificates

14.       Winners will be announced one (1) week after Gabii sa Kabilin on June 7, 2013 in Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc website: www.rafi.org.ph and JRG Halad Museum Facebook page: www.facebook.com/JRGHaladMuseum
