CEBU, Philippines - The Province of Cebu will give P3 million financial assistance to the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support the celebration of the Cebu Business Month in June.

The Provincial Board yesterday passed a resolution authorizing acting Governor Agnes Magpale to execute and sign in behalf of the Province of Cebu the memorandum of agreement with the CCCI in extending the said assistance.

It was clearly stated in the resolution sponsored by Board Member Thadeo Ouano that the assistance will be granted provided that the CCCI submit the documents they need.

These include the detailed breakdown of the P3 million intended spending and the program concept concerning the sponsored activity.

As active partner, the Province of Cebu has been giving financial assistance and institutional support for the past successful undertakings.

In celebrating the CBM, the CCCI engages and stimulates strong public-private partnership to aggressively promote Cebu as an investment and tourism hub in the Asia-Pacific region.

The CBM runs the whole month of June of every year and aims to provide a venue to help small and medium enterprises boost their businesses as well as focus on Cebu’s strong points to further propel economic growth in partnership with government agencies and local government units.

Last year, Magpale assured CCCI of continued partnership in sustaining the economic momentum.

CBM is one of CCCI’s flagship projects happening every June to celebrate, highlight and inspire more successes in Cebu’s business community.

CBM 2013 aims to rally together, industry stakeholders in a month of relevant activities and projects focusing on four (4) major thrusts: ICT & BPO, Tourism, Entrepreneurship and Creative Industries and Advocacy.

With this year’s theme, Excite Cebu! Power Up Global Business, CBM 2013 aims to intensify efforts to increase Cebu’s global competitiveness in the world economy.

Through CBM 2013, CCCI also hopes to attain a new level of vitality by providing unique opportunities for stakeholders as well as partners to get their key messages across their target markets, especially the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Through its programs and activities, CBM 2013 serves as a strategic venue each company’s marketing initiatives and for establishing partnerships and linkages with key players in Cebu’s business arena.— /MIT (FREEMAN)
