SM helping San Pedro Calungsod’s Duaw Nasud

CEBU, Philippines - SM Malls is teaming up with the Archdiocese of Cebu to help propagate the devotion to San Pedro Calungsod.

As the Duaw Nasud resumes this Friday in Panay and Romblon islands, SM will be opening a photo and video exhibits on the life and the canonization of the second Filipino saint, in all the places with SM branches that the Duaw Nasud team will visit.

Fr. Charles Jayme, the Duaw Nasud team head, said that this was made possible through the efforts of Marissa Fernan, SM Prime Holdings vice president for Visayas and Mindanao.

“In every place that the Duaw Nasud team will visit with an SM branch, there will always be a photo and a video exhibit on the life and canonization of San Pedro Calungsod inside the mall. This is SM’s contribution in the propagation to the devotion for San Pedro Calungsod,” Jayme told The FREEMAN.

“We are very thankful to Ma’am Marissa Fernan for her initiative in promoting San Pedro Calungsod. This is their way to catechize the faithful about the journey of faith with San Pedro,” Jayme added.

The resumption of the Duaw Nasud will be until May 10. There will be a sendoff Mass on Friday at the San Pedro Calungsod Shrine in the Archbishop’s Palace at 4 p.m.

The Duaw Nasud Team bringing the pilgrim image of San Pedro Calungsod  is expected to arrive in Molo, Iloilo, on Saturday until April 29.

From there, the team will then move to Capiz but before going to Capiz they will stop on a parish still under construction in Barangay Mianay, Capiz that will be named after San Pedro Calungsod.

The pilgrim image will stay until May 1 in Capiz, and then it will be taken to Romblon from May 1 until May 5 and on May 5 it will be taken to Kalibo, Aklan, until the 7th.

The Duaw Nasud’s last stop will be in Antique from May 7 to May 9 and the team is expected to arrive in Cebu by May 10.

“On behalf of the Duaw Nasud team, we ask for continued prayers that this Duaw Nasud activity, as our way to propagate San Pedro, will not only be successful but also meaningful to the lives of the people and to our faith experience,” Jayme said.

The Duaw Nasud activity’s next stop will be in Davao or Palawan by July, Jayme hopes.   (FREEMAN)
