CCPO reshuffles station chiefs

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Police Office implemented a major reshuffling of its station commanders and unit heads effective last Monday.

Senior Supt. Mariano Natu-el, officer-in-charge of CCPO, said the reshuffling was done to give police officials the opportunity to lead other police stations and special units.

Six of the 11 police station under CCPO have new station leaders as well as the Homicide Section, Theft and Robbery Section, City Intelligence Branch, Traffic Patrol Group and the General Supply Services.

Inspector Manuel Cañete, the former chief of Mambaling Police Station, is now the new Homicide Section chief and Insp. William Alicaba from the CIB is new chief of TRS.

Senior Insp. Michaelangelo Beltran from Talamban Police Station is the new chief of Mambaling Police Station, Sr. Insp. Chuck Barandog of Fuente Police Station is the new chief of Punta Princesa Police Station, Chief Insp. Andres Bayarcal of TRS is the new chief of Guadalupe Police Station, Sr. Insp. Jose Gesto of San Nicolas Police Station is the new chief of Talamban Police Station and Chief Insp. Renero Agustin reassigned is the new Fuente Police Station chief.

Senior Insp. Francis Errol Deveyra, former Homicide section chief, is reassigned to the Fuente Police Station with Bayarcal to give him designation as well as Sr. Insp. Keith Allen Andaya from Guadalupe Police Station who is reassigned as deputy of CIB chief, Chief Insp. Romeo Santander.

Senior Insp. Bienvenido Miral from Pari-an Police Station will serve as deputy chief of TPG until current TPG chief Aurelio Sanchez resigns on March 31, said Natu-el.

GSS has a new chief in the person of Supt. Artemio Ricabo who was previously assigned at Natu-el’s Office.

Natu-el said that Ricabo, Agustin, Bayarcal, Gesto, Barandog, Beltran, Cañete, and Alicaba are designated as officers-in-charge of their new positions.

“Daghang nang-retire unya tagaan usab nato ang uban og chance to lead police stations hasta ang uban nadugay nang wala nabalhin,” he said.

The CCPO head further said that the rest of the station commanders are retained in their posts for their effectivity and for the continuation of their pending projects.  — (FREEMAN)
