CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested three people who reportedly sold shabu to authorities in separate buy-bust operations in the towns of Dalaguete and Balamban last Friday night.

In Balamban police arrested live-in partners Maximo Tranilla and Mitas Ipanag who reportedly sold them a pack of shabu worth P200 in Barangay Arpili at past 9 p.m. last Friday.

Tranilla, a motorcycle-for-hire driver, was the one who handed over the shabu to a policeman who acted as the poseur-buyer.

Police then arrested Tranilla and Ipanag, who was allegedly accompanying the former.

Authorities frisked Tranilla and found six more packs of suspected shabu.  Police also confiscated the suspects’ cellphone and the motorcycle that they used to reach the meeting area.

The couple is now detained while police are preparing charges for possession and selling illegal drugs against them.

About two hours earlier, police in Dalaguete also arrested Roy Navarrete, 54, who sold a pack of shabu worth P500 to a policeman who also acted as a decoy in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Balud.

As soon as Navarrete handed over the suspected shabu to the police decoy, authorities arrested him.  Police also frisked the suspect and found four other packs of suspected shabu from his pocket.

Police have been monitoring the suspect who was reportedly known for selling shabu to residents of Barangay Balud where he also resides.

The suspect, who was placed behind bars, will also face charges for selling and possessing illegal drugs.  –BRP (FREEMAN)
