Man, two minors wounded in shooting incident

CEBU, Philippines - A man and two minors were shot by two unidentified suspects who riding a motorcycle at Mananga II, Tabunok, Talisay City, at around 3:30am last Tuesday.

The victims, Donnie (real name withheld for being a minor), 15, a resident of Lawa-an III, Talisay City, Jose Roy Romarez alias Siroy, 22, single, and Jovan (real name also withheld), 13, both residents of Mananga II, were talking while walking down a concrete stairway when the two suspects suddenly shot them.

Witnesses said the suspects, who covered their faces, fled to unknown directions after the crime.

The victims were then rushed to Minglanilla Emergency Hospital for medical treatment.

The victims sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of the body and one of them is in critical condition.

Romarez and one of the minor victims sustained gunshot wounds in the right side of the buttock and right upper shoulder, respectively.

On the other hand, the other minor was wounded in his back and lower left arm.

The minor who is in critical condition was transferred to a hospital in the city for medical treatment.

Initial investigation revealed that the minor victims were involved in robbery and theft incidents in their place. One was a suspect in a robbery case of a local hardware in Talisay where police personnel were able to recover stolen items from his possession. 

Romarez on the other hand, was charged for robbery and theft and was recently released from the Talisay City Jail. 

PNP personnel are still conducting follow up investigation to determine the motive of the incident and the identity of the perpetrators. — (FREEMAN)
