‘Pusher’ shot dead
CEBU, Philippines - An alleged drug pusher was shot dead inside his own house in Sitio Buli, Barangay Duljo-Fatima, around noon yesterday.
Niño delos Reyes, 24, a resident of Sitio Buli was about to accompany his girlfriend Jessica Sunga, 23, to Mandaue City when two men suddenly entered his house and shot him thrice, hitting him in the left side of the chest, left upper and lower arm.
SPO1 Ruth Violango said that the victim was killed on the spot.
Evelia delos Reyes, the mother of the victim, was in the house when the shooting happened.
She confirmed a lot of people harbored a grudge against her son due to his drug-related activities. She added he was imprisoned before due to robbery, snatching and illegal possession of firearms.
Policemen believe the victim also used drugs after finding drug paraphernalia inside his house. The victim’s body was taken to the St. Francis Funeral Holmes for autopsy.
Meanwhile, a former drug user shot himself in the head inside his own house in Sitio Sambag 2, barangay Guadalupe, Sunday morning.
It was Gerom Padayao, 23, who called the police to report that his uncle Artemio Caballes Padayao, 46, a former security guard, had shot himself.
Gerom told responding officers, SPO4 Rey Cuyos, SPO2 Teodoro Lumanas and PO1 Michael Angelo Singson that he was in his room when he heard a gunshot from the room of the victim downstairs around 11 a.m.
When he went to check he saw the victim lying bleeding on the floor.
Policemen said by the time they got there the victim was unresponsive, had no pulse and no breathing.
They recovered a .38 cal. revolver with five live rounds and one empty shell in its cylinder near his right hand, a deformed slug was recovered from his left side.
Gerom further said that the victim was a former drug user and had a nervous breakdown recently.
The victim’s body was then taken to Cebu Rolling Hills Memorial Chapels for autopsy. –/BRP (FREEMAN)
