Soco goes house-to-house campaign
CEBU, Philippines - Vice gubernatorial candidate and businessman Glenn Anthony Soco goes house-to-house in his campaign which he never did in 2010 as runningmate of Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.
Recently, Soco has reached out even to the farthest islet in Bantayan Island to campaign for the same position in 2013 elections.
Though he was nominated by the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), Soco’s status is considered independent as he goes around the province alone without any candidate for governor and other local positions.
His leaders are composed of supporters of both gubernatorial bets, Rep. Pablo John Garcia of One Cebu and Hilario Davide III of Liberal Party.
In Bantayan Island, Soco met multi-sectoral leaders composed of barangay officials, senior citizens, health workers, women, youth and others from barangays of Binaobao, Bantigue, Suba and Ticad.
Binaobao barangay captain Arsenio Paires hosted the meeting.
Soco explained that unlike in 2010 elections when he and Garcia campaigned on stage before a huge crowd, this time he is going down to the households to directly talk to the people.
Soco crossed Lipayran islet by boat just to meet the people who voted for him in 2010 election.
He was greeted by barangay officials and hundreds of residents when he arrived at the islet.
Soco has been in the area even after he lost in 2010 when Gov. Garcia tagged him along during the inauguration of electrification project last year with Rep. Benhur Salimbangon.
