One Cebu swears in 9,000 leaders in Dumanjug
CEBU, Philippines - Over 9,000 so-called household leaders of One Cebu Party were sworn in yesterday in Dumanjug town, the hometown of the Garcias.
One Cebu president Governor Gwendolyn Garcia led the oathtaking of the household leaders composed of officials and volunteers of 37 barangays held at Doña Josefa Paras Garcia Memorial Heritage Park in Dumanjug.
Garcia is asking the people of Dumanjug to support his brother, third district Rep. Pablo John Garcia, to be the fourth governor of the Province of Cebu coming from their town.
The first governor was Dionisio Jakosalem followed by now Deputy Speaker Pablo “Pabling” Garcia of the second district, and Gwen.
The household leaders swore that they will work for the victory of the candidates of One Cebu and to preserve the unity of the Province of Cebu.
Also present during the oathtaking were Pabling, Pablo John his runningmate, former Danao City mayor Ramon “Boboy” Durano IV.
The complete slate of One Cebu for the 2013 elections in Dumanjug was also proclaimed led by Mayor Nelson Garcia and his runningmate, Rene Asentista.
Nelson in his speech appealed to his constituents to support his brother, Pablo John, who is from Dumanjug and not the one from Argao, meaning Hilario Davide III of the Liberal Party.
Durano was also introduced to be a relative of the Garcias of Dumanjug.
Pabling also assured that the Garcias are always giving honor to their town citing his accomplishments that are also being followed by his children.
Earlier, 37 barangay captains of Dumanjug town signed a manifesto of support for the Garcias in next year’s elections.
The manifesto stated the “unequivocal and unconditional support” for the Garcias who will be running for different elective positions next year although Gwen is seeking the congressional post in the third district, which Dumanjug is no longer part of.
While Pablo John seeks the gubernatorial post, Pabling seeks for third and final term as congressman and Nelson for his second term as mayor. (FREEMAN)
