CEBU, Philippines - Talent manager and Cebu City North District congressional aspirant Annabelle Rama clarified that she is not in the position to say that she will not bring Mayor Michael Rama to her party, the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP).
She said she will let Rama decide on his own as she is still new in politics.
Last Monday, Annabelle joined PMP of former President Joseph Estrada and she reiterated that it was her own decision.
Annabelle chose PMP-UNA because Estrada is a family friend and supports Estrada’s pro-poor campaign.
In a press conference at the Cebu City Hall yesterday, Annabelle accused her opponent of attacking her on the social networking site, Twitter, using fictitious names.
She said this only shows that her opponents are “insecure.”
Annabelle said she is not threatened by the Del Mars. She believes she has a good chance of winning despite running against either incumbent North District Rep. Rachel “Cutie” del Mar or the latter’s father, former Rep. Raul del Mar who has never lost an election in the district.
Because of her “masa” appeal, Annabelle is certain she and Mayor Rama will win in the elections next year.
“Next mayor sa Cebu City si Mike Rama. Next congresswoman si Annabelle Rama. Pildi na siya,” she said referring to South District Rep. Tomas Osmeña who will be running for mayor next year.
She warned Osmeña to stop attacking Rama as it only proves that he is also “insecure” .
If she will win, Annabelle promised to spend her salary as a congresswoman and 50 percent of her income as a talent manager in helping indigent constituents.
She also promised to prioritize health and education as well as solve traffic problems by widening the major roads in the city.
Annabelle was in Cebu for her regular barangay visit. — /MBG (FREEMAN)
