"Drug pusher" falls in bust
CEBU, Philippines - After proving that he sells shabu, police arrested a level two drug pusher who yielded 1.5 grams of shabu and drug paraphernalia in his house in Barangay Poblacion Uno, Carcar City last Thursday night.
Suspect Jundee Paras, 42, was arrested by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Enriqueta Loquillano-Belarmino of the Regional Trial Court Branch 57 dated Sept. 14.
Senior Police Officer 3 Jerome Tanudtanud, one of the arresting officers from Carcar City Police Station, said that Paras, who sells swine as a decent living, also sells at least 200 grams of shabu every week. Paras, he added, has been in the illegal drug trade for quite a long time now.
Tanudtanud said they conducted a test-buy with the suspect before they secured a search warrant. Prior to the test buy, Tanudtanud said they received a tip that the suspect sells shabu.
“During the test-buy, na-prove nato na namaligya g’yud siya ug illegal na drogas,” Tanudtanud said, adding that they did not arrest him yet then, anticipating that they could recover more shabu from the suspect last Thursday.
Around 8 pm that day, the police, led by Chief Insp. Teodulfo Manatad III, station chief, went to Paras’ house and found the suspect sitting inside his living room together with his wife and child.
The police showed him the warrant and searched his house in the presence of his family and barangay officials who served as witnesses.
Tanudtanud said they recovered a pack of shabu at the top of the freezer inside the suspect’s room. (FREEMAN)
