CEBU, Philippines - The Dalaguete Health Management Complex was inaugurated last Friday.
The one-story rural health center is said to be the first in Cebu as it can be considered as mini hospital already. Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia said she is proud to have established the one-of-a-kind health center.
“First ni sa Cebu and mau pod ni ang usa sa mga programa sa DOH (This is first in Cebu and is also the program of the DOH). I really wanted to put up a birthing center sa tanan, so maung amo kining gitabangan apil sa akong amahan ug sa mga senators (it is why me and my father together with the Senators helped this project) ,” Garcia said.
The said health complex was funded thru the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Senators Allan Peter Cayetano, Juan Miguel Zubiri, and Teofisto Guigona. Cayetano gave P1.4 million while Zubiri and Guingona gave P500,000 each. Second District Rep. Pablo Garcia gave P1 million.
The governor also added P1 million while the Department of Health gave P1,350,000. The Municipal Government of Dalaguete cough up P2,120,000 to complete the project.
The governor inaugurated the project together with her brother 3rd District Rep. Pablo John Garcia and their father who is the district’s representative. During the inauguration several members of the One Cebu Party also took their oath. The town Mayor Ronald Allan Cesante declared Dalaguete as “One Cebu” country.
Over 2,000 One Cebu supporters gathered to show the town’s full support to the party. The huge crowd was composed of the 32 barangay captains, 93% of the barangay officials, the chapter presidents and members of the senior citizens and the people from the different sectors of the municipality.
