Road mishap kills 1, injures 3 in Argao
CEBU, Philippines - A man died while three others were injured during a road accident involving two motorcycles on the national highway at Sitio Candabong, Barangay Binlod, Argao Tuesday evening.
Jemar Pangandoyon was declared dead on arrival at the Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital in Argao due to severe injuries in different parts of his body.
Pangandoyon tried to overtake the motorcycle driven by Jerry Lood, 47, when the incident happened. He was on his Honda XRM motorcycle and was tailing Jerry from Barangay Poblacion to Barangay Binlod.
Jerry tries to make a left turn upon reaching Barangay Binlod when Pangandoyon also maneuvers to overtake hitting the former’s motorcycle. Jerry and his backriders Gilbert Lood, 20, and Genrel Lood, 19 were injured after they were thrown out of the motorcycle. They were taken to the same hospital but were treated as outpatient. All riders did not wear protective head gears.
Jerry is now detained at the Argao police stockade. Pangandoyon’s family however did not have any plan of filing criminal charges against Jerry. The police have impounded the two motorcycles for having expired registrations. - THE FREEMAN
