CPPO holds first Olympics

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Police Office holds its first Police Olympics which is intended to enhance the knowledge and skills of the police personnel in the field of administrative and operational readiness.

The Police Olympics started last August 1 and is set to end on August 14 in line with the national celebration of the 111th Anniversary of the police service.

Aside from enhancing the knowledge and skills of PNP personnel, the event is also in compliance with the ten-point action plan, “Enhancement and Specialization Skills”, of PNP Chief Nicanor Bartolome.

With the theme,“Pulis N’yo Po sa Tuwid na Daan, Serbisyong may Pagkukusa, Maaasahan,” the Olympics has eight different categories that are open to more than 1,600 CPPO personnel.

The categories include Best in Affidavit Writing, Police Personnel with Most Number of Arrests, Best in the Conduct of High and Low Risk Checkpoints, Best in Handcuffing Techniques, Best Handgun Shooter, Best in Proper Uniform, Best Police Patrol Car and Best Tourist Police.

Winners in each category will be awarded on August 15 at the CPPO headquarters.
