3 women steal cash, Rolex; all arrested
CEBU, Philippines - Three women were arrested for allegedly stealing one million Japanese yen or around P534,490 and a Rolex watch worth P50,000.
Keni Chi Murasaki, 73, of Tokyo, Japan came to the Theft and Robbery Section of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office when he discovered that his case and watch were no longer in his room.
Murasaki is renting an apartment in Barangay Pajo,Lapu-Lapu City.
The three suspects who were identified as Marie Jane Alonzo, 20, of Barangay Basak, Chona Pino, 22 of Sangi New Road and Laniflor Taneo, 18 of Barangay Babag are the victim’s friends.
Before the incident, the victim allegedly slept with the three women in his room.
The closed-circuit television camera of the apartment revealed that the three suspects left at around 4 am last Wednesday.
The three women revealed that Murasaki always sleeps with them everytime he arrives from Japan.
They also said Murasaki gives them money but he will also take it back.
This prompted them to commit the crime.
After Murasaki reported to TRS about his missing belongings, the police summoned the three women and they also heeded.
At first, they denied the allegations but Taneo later admitted.
The police search her house and recovered 430,000 yen or about P229,830 and recovered the victim’s Rolex watch.
The police also took Taneo’s computer set.
The suspects revealed that they used the money to buy dresses and medicines as well as pay their debts.
All three suspects are now detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police pending filing of theft complaints against them. - THE FREEMAN
