Rama turns over P45M worth of road concreting projects
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Government turned over yesterday P45-million worth of road concreting projects in various mountain barangays of Cebu City including the road concreting in the North Reclamation Area.
A marathon of formal turnovers and blessings started at 7 a.m. in barangay Carreta with the newly completed concreting of J. de Vera Street worth P9.547 million.
The concrete road in J. De Vera St. at the NRA is just one of the NRA roads with ongoing concreting projects.
Mayor Michael Rama then proceeded to the mountain barangays of Budlaan, Mabini, Paril, Cambinocot, Lusaran, Adlaon, Taptap, Tabunan, Sudlon I, Sinsin and Malubog.
The road concreting projects in the mountain barangays already have a drainage system and slope protection.
The projects were funded under Supplemental Budget No. 5 of 2010 and the 2011 Annual Budget.
Rama said that some of the projects were funded during the time of his predecessor, but was only implemented during his time after he pushed for it.
He promised the mountain barangay residents that he will make sure that all barangay roads will be concrete in the next few years.
“Atong hutdon og semento ang tanang kadalanan sa bukid aron dili na maglisod sa transportasyon ang mga mag-uuma,(We will finish fixing all the roads in the mountain areas so that the farmers will not have a hard time with their transportation.)” Rama said.
Rama also assured the people that the taxpayer’s money, up to the last cent will, be given back to the people in the form of basic services such as infrastructures like concrete roads.
He said he will appropriate more funds for road concreting projects in the mountain barangays to the Annual Budget next year.
Team Rama candidates including Sambag I Captain Gerry Guardo, Agsungot Captain Pastor Alcover Jr., former Councilor Edwin Jagmoc and Ermita Councilman Felicisimo Rupinta were spotted during the series of turnovers. They were wearing the Team Rama shirts.
