Satisfaction bell as feedback mechanism
CEBU, Philippines - Satisfaction bells will soon be installed in various police stations in Cebu City as part of the police’s quality service lane project.
The bells will be installed at the exit doors of every police station for the public to ring to let the police know that they are satisfied of the service rendered to them.
Since the program was launched by Camp Crame in January, only Police Station 2 has installed a satisfaction bell. Clients could ring the ‘bell’ if they are satisfied with the police service extended to them.
Senior Insp. Chuck Barandog, chief of Police Station 2, said they feel contented every time someone would ring their satisfaction bell.
“Nindot ang feeling nga makita nato sa ilang face (clients) nga happy sila sa ilang paggawas,” Barandog said.
In fact, he said at least 200 satisfied clients have rung their bell since it was installed in March based on their log book.
As of the moment, Police Station 2 made use of a small bell commonly used by ice cream vendors instead of the large bells prescribed by Camp Crame because it costs around P8,000 each.
If fully implemented in Cebu City, CCPO will have to prepare at least P100,000 for all the 11 stations.
CCPO director Melvin Ramon Buenafe said they will formally launch the satisfaction bell project in the coming weeks. Buenafe said this is one way for them to know if they are doing their work properly.
“It is a way aron atong makuha ang feedback sa mga tawo. (It is one way of getting feedback from the public),” he said. –(FREEMAN)
