Pusher eludes arrest during bust
CEBU, Philippines - A level two drug pusher eluded arrest while his wingman was caught by elements of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Group (RAIDSOG) – 7 during a bust last Thursday night in Barangay Busay, Cebu City.
Ronald “Callboy” Tumulak of legal age managed to escape pursuing policemen while his accomplice, Judge Minoza, 30, of Sitio Burgos, Barangay Pulangbato was arrested.
An undercover police who posed as poseur buyer arranged to meet the two suspects at 7pm purportedly buy a bulk or five grams of shabu worth P25,000. They agreed to meet at a dimly lit area near a restaurant in Busay.
Senior Insp. Henrix Bancoleta, team leader of the operation, said Tumulak sensed police presence and immediately fled, leaving Minoza behind.
Bancoleta said they tried to chase Tumulak,but the suspect managed to flag down a motorcyle-for-hire and escaped.
“They know the area very well. That is why he (Tumulak) managed to escape fast when we rushed up,” Bancoleta said in Cebuano.
Tumulak can allegedly dispose around 25 grams of shabu in a week, which amounts to P500,000.
Both pushers reportedly operate in three mountain barangays in Cebu City and Consolacion town.
Minoza admitted involvement in the illegal drug trade. Investigators recovered two medium packs of suspected shabu from the Honda Bravo motorcycle with plate number 6927 GJ used by the suspects.
Minoza is currently detained at the Police Regional Office -7 holding cell while the police are preparing charges for the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
