Loot is richest mayor in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - Daanbantayan Mayor Maria Luisa Loot emerged as the richest mayor in Cebu based on the statement of assets, liabilities and net worth of the province’s mayors.

Loot’s SALN revealed she has a net worth of P108.6 million.

The net worth or actual wealth is computed on the value of one’s total assets minus total liabilities.

Mayor Democrito Diamante of Tuburan has a net worth of P54.7 million while Mayor Antonio Canoy of San Fernando has P47.2 million.

Fourth was Mayor Teresa Alegado of Consolacion with P45.1 million while fifth was Mayor Joel Quiño of Compostela with P45.5 million.

Sixth was Bogo City Mayor Celestino Martinez Jr. with P30.7 million. In seventh place was Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes of Mandaue City with P21.9 million.

Mayors with below P20 million were Nicepuro Apura of Carcar City, P16.5 million; Daisy Creus of Malabuyoc, P15.9 million; Emelita Guisadio of Alegria, P15.8 million; Augustus Caesar Moreno of Aloguinsan, P15.8 million; Salvador Dela Fuente of Madredejos, P14.4 million; and Raymond Joseph Calderon of Samboan, P13.2 million.

Mayors with below one million net worth were Eusebio Dungog of Tabogon, Fractuso Caballero of Badian, and Socrates Fernandez of Talisay City.

Other mayors were not included on the list for non-availability of documents.

Meanwhile, Toledo City Vice Mayor Arlene Zambo of Toledo City has P18.2 million net worth, the richest among vice mayors in the province. (FREEMAN)
