Sen. Revilla, Cayetano give P13.5M to some Cebu towns
CEBU, Philippines - Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla and Senator Peter Allan Cayetano are giving Cebu province, through Sixth District Provincial Board member Thadeo Ouano, infrastructure projects and medical assistance amounting to P13.5 million.
Ouano said that the amount will be distributed to the different municipalities of the province including Mandaue City.
Of the P13.5 million, Ouano said P10.5 million came from Revilla while the P3 million came from Cayetano.
Nixon “Jojo” Dizon, Senator Revilla’s political officer for Central Visayas, said that these were given as part of the senator’s way of thanking the Cebuanos for their continued support.
The Cebuanos voted Revilla to the number one spot among the 12 senatorial candidates in the 2010 local and national elections.
“Pasalamat ni Senator Bong Revilla ang atong ihatag ngadto sa mga mayor para sa ilahang tagsa-tagsa ka mga constituents, (Sen. Bong Revilla’s gave this to show his gratitude and we are giving it to the mayors for their constituents. “ said Dizon, Ouano’s son-in-law.
Dizon said that of the P10.5 million, a total of P6 million will go to 11 municipalities and one city of of Naga at P500,000 each.
The eleven municipalities include Sogod, Samboan, Santander, Ronda, Boljoon, Alegria, Cordova, Alcantara, Tabuelan, Tuburan, Moalboal and Naga City.
Ouano said that a total of P2.5 million from Revilla’s Priority Development Assistance Fund will go to the town of Consolacion’s improvement, repair and rehabilitation of the barangay Polog Road.
Daanbantayan town will likewise receive a total of P1 million for the construction of a multi-purpose building in barangay Maya.
Revilla also gave P1 million for the Eversley Child’s Sanitarium as medical assistance through Dizon’s wife, Mandaue City Councilor Emmarie Ouano-Dizon.
Cayetano, on the other hand, also gave P2 million from his PDAF for the construction of a barangay health center in barangay Opao, the bailiwick of the Ouanos.
While another P1 million from Cayetano was given for the construction/completion of a rural health center in the town of Tabogon.
Ouano, a three-term mayor of Mandaue City, said that the assistance given by the two senators that were coursed through him shows that these higher officials trusted him when it comes to delivery of public service.—(FREEMAN)
