For construction projects: OBO: No permit, no work

CEBU, Philippines - Construction projects lacking the necessary permits will have to cease work until it gets its papers done.

This was the assurance made by Cebu City Building Official Josefa Ylanan yesterday to members of the City Council.

She said that despite their lack of personnel, she will work hard to stop work on projects that do not have permits from the Office of the Building Official (OBO).

Speaking before the city legislators during a public hearing that discussed the issue of construction of condominium projects, Ylanan said there are some building contractors who insist that they would start the construction of their projects before the approval of their permits. (FREEMAN)
