CEBU, Philippines - A 25-year-old lesbian was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped last Monday afternoon in Sitio Pailog, Barangay Sambag 1, Cebu City.
The victim, a resident of Sunrise Village, Barangay Pardo, Cebu City, said she was shopping for a new pair of shoes in the downtown area last Monday when she was abducted between 5 and 6 p.m.
She said she noticed four men following her and later one of the men suddenly wrapped an arm around her shoulder and held a knife against her.
She was brought to a taxi that took her to a room for rent along Urgello St. where the four perpetrators reportedly took turns raping her.
The following morning the victim managed to call her girlfriend, who sought help from the victim's father. The father was the one who reported the incident to the police.
The police called the victim and asked her to describe the place where she was taken to until they arrived.
SPO2 Vincent Taladua, of the Cebu City Intelligence Branch, said they found the victim lying on the ground underneath a table full of trash in the room for rent.
Taladua believes the victim was drugged by the assailants based on her condition when she was rescued.
The victim was brought to the Pink Room of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for examination.
Tattoo artist Glen Norbasa was later arrested by the police in a follow-up operation around 3 p.m. yesterday inside the same room where the victim was rescued.
Several drug paraphernalia were also seized from the suspect's room.
Taladua said Norbasa's landlady saw the suspect and three other men bringing the victim inside his room last Monday evening.
Norbasa could not answer any questions because he was drunk while he was arrested. The police are still searching for Norbasa's three accomplices.
The police are preparing charges for illegal detention and rape against the perpetrators. –(FREEMAN)
