4th district gets more funds for health, medical assistance

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu fourth district Rep. Benhur Salimbangon has appropriated more funds for health and medical assistance to his constituents this year from his Priority Development Assistance Fund.

Salimbangon allotted P8.5 million for the Benhur Health Card program wherein P5 million is downloaded to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu and the district hospitals in Bogo City, Daanbantayan and Bantayan.

Constituents in the fourth district who are Benhur Health Card holders may avail of free hospitalization at the said hospitals with up to P10,000 for major surgical operations.

Salimbangon hopes to address complaints from some patients that they were not given medical attention due to lack of supplies in the hospitals where the card may be used.

During the inauguration of the two-classroom building in barangay Kantubaon, Tabuelan yesterday, Salimbangon called on those who have no Benhur Health Cards to avail of his programs.

Salimbangon also announced that he appropriated P3.5 million for the burial assistance at P3,000 each.

He has also set aside P300,000 for each barangay which can be acquired through a resolution requesting said amount for projects that barangay officials want to implement.

Salimbangon also appropriated P10 million for the concreting of farm-to-market roads connecting Ilihan, Tabon-Tabuelan-San Remegio areas.

There is now on going road concreting project in Tabuelan-San Remegio road.

On Monday, Salimbangon is scheduled to visit Kinatarcan Island in Santa Fe to check the waterworks system which he also funded. — (FREEMAN)
