CPDRC warden under suspension

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center warden Alger Commendador has been placed under preventive suspension.

This after Governor Gwendolyn Garcia signed the recommendation of lawyer Lito Astillero, head of the Committee on Discipline and Investigation.

Garcia said the suspension will last six months. She added it was only preventive because the investigation was still on going.

Earlier, Garcia ordered the relief of Commendador and others after a jail guard allowed inmates to have launch at a restaurant after a court hearing instead of bringing him back to the jail.

Aside from that incident, another incident that caused his relief was the escape of inmates after court hearings.(FREEMAN)
