CEBU, Philippines - Two men, one of whom is a wanted person, are in critical condition after separate shooting incidents in Danao City.

In Juan Luna St., Barangay Looc a man, who had a pending warrant of arrest was shot twice by an unidentified person inside his house yesterday morning.

Allan Batucan was reportedly inside his house at about 10:30 in the morning when he was shot twice, hitting him in his neck and abdomen.

He was taken to the Danao City Provincial Hospital but later transferred to the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City for immediate surgery.

PO2 Ildefonso Prosia of the Danao City Police Station said two men, one identified as Henry Barriga, were seen going in directly inside the house afterwhich two bursts of gunfire rang out.

Both then fled on foot leaving Batucan injured.

Police recovered two deformed slugs and an empty shell of a caliber .45.

Prosia said Batucan was subject of a manhunt operation but attempts of locating him failed.

In another incident, a 38-year-old farmer from Sitio Colo, Barangay Cahumayan was shot by Ananias Calderon of Sitio Potland last Wednesday evening.

Jemerito Tolo sustained gunshot wounds in his right arm, right foot, left thigh and right part of his chest. He was rushed to the Danao City Provincial Hospital then later referred to DVSMMC in Cebu City.

The two had an argument. Calderon got mad when he saw his plants being eaten by the cow of Tolo. Prosia said the cow ate bananas, corn and camote tops owned by Calderon.

When Tolo was about to get his cow from near the farm of Calderon at about 8:30 in the evening the latter appeared and blocked the victim’s way.

A confrontation happened before Calderon pulled out his gun and shot Tolo. — (FREEMAN)
