CEBU, Philippines - Two graduates of the University of San Carlos landed in the top 10 in the licensure examination for nursing given by the Professional Regulation Commission last December.
Raymond Frias Fabronero and Paul Gibson Sepe Reyes placed 7th with a rating of 84.6 percent.
The result released by the PRC yesterday afternoon revealed that 22,760 out of 67,095 examinees (or 33.92 percent) passed the examination.
Jerald Lalaguna Pelayo of Seventh-day Adventist’s Mountain View College in Bukidnon topped the examination with a rating of 86.4 percent.
Attaining a 100 percent passing rate, Saint Paul University-Iloilo was the top performing school with all its 50 graduates passed the exam.
The exams were given by the Board of Nursing in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao, Iloilo, La Union, Legazpi, Lucena, Nueva Ecija, Pagadian, Pampanga, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
Pursuant to Section 16, of Republic Act No. 9173, “all successful candidates in the examination shall be required to take an oath of professional before the Board or any government official authorized to administer oaths prior to entering upon the nursing practice.” — /LPM (FREEMAN)
