CEBU, Philippines - A man was found dead at a swamp in Barangay Colonya, Tuburan Tuesday afternoon.
Roel Recta, 34, resident of Barangay Fortaleza in the same town was found buried in mud pond with multiple stab wounds in the body. Members of the Tuburan police are facing a blank wall in their investigation because nobody has witnessed the crime.
The autopsy result shows that the victim died from severe loss of blood because of the stab wound in the chest and a lacerated wound in the neck.
Chief Insp. Alvin Balio, team leader of the scene of the crime operatives, said the victim was thrown by the unidentified assailants into the swamp.
“Duda nako gilubong na sa lunangan sa kabaw pero tungod kay ga-uwan-uwan man possible nilutaw kay nasudlan na’g tubig ang lawas (I believe he was buried in the Carabao pond but because of the rain it went afloat,” Balio said.
According to Balio, the victim was already in the state of decomposition when barangay captain Macario Batal found it.
The police believe that the crime could have been done by two of more assailants. —(FREEMAN)
