Man stabs pal dead during wedding celebration

CEBU, Philippines - A wedding celebration turned bloody when a 24-year-old man stabbed his drinking buddy dead last Thursday afternoon in Sitio Cambuntan, Barangay Bolinawan, Carcar City.

Concordio Delica, 51, did not know it but he was performing the last dance of his life before he was fatally stabbed by Ritchie Nabua, 24, of Sitio Ilaya, Cambuntan, in the right side of his chest and left portion of his abdomen. Nabua ran off after the incident but later surrendered to his neighbor PO2 Alex Padin yesterday morning.

SPO2 Teodor Fuentes, alert team leader of the Carcar City Police Station, said the two were drinking outside the house of the new couple and Nabua reportedly got mad when Delica kept on dancing while they were singing.

Nabua called the attention of Delica many times but he was ignored. They then had an argument that eventually turned violent.

Nabua is now detained at the Carcar City police stockade pending the filing of criminal charges against him.  (FREEMAN)
