Pagadian's most wanted falls in Cebu City

- Ria Mae Y. Booc -

CEBU, Philippines - An alleged gun-for-hire and robbery gang member who is considered most wanted in Pagadian City was arrested Wednesday afternoon by the operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch of the Cebu Provincial Police Office.

Ronnie Kilme, who is facing murder charges and carnapping cases in Zamboanga del Sur, was arrested by PIB operatives along Natalio Bacalso Avenue through the help of a police asset.

PIB operatives arrested Kilme by virtue of an alias warrant for murder issued in May 2005 by Regional Trial Court Branch 20 Judge Rolando Goan in Pagadian City.

Kilme reportedly left Pagadian City one year ago to go into hiding in Mandaue City. Aside from the alias warrant, Kilme also has eight other pending arrest warrants for murder, carnapping, attempted murder and attempted robbery.

PIB chief Rodolfo Albotra showed the copies of the warrants yesterday when Kilme was presented to the media.

Chief Insp. Mark Gifter Sucalit, who led the team that arrested Kilme, said that they were able to get the contact number of the accused through their asset. Sucalit said they befriended Kilme and agreed to meet along N. Bacalso Ave. last Wednesday.

Kilme agreed to a meeting resulting to his arrest. The police seized from his possession a Rusi motorcycle, assorted identification cards including a driver’s license bearing the name of a certain Jhon Carlo Revilla Redondo but with Kilme’s picture on it.

Kilme claimed he was maltreated by the police. He showed a contusion in his back to the members of the media.

“Binugbog nila ako, masakit talaga ang likod ko hindi ko naman kasalanan lahat ‘yan nadamay lang ako,” Kilme said as he breaks into tears.

Kilme admitted only two of the nine cases pending before the court in Pagadian City against him.

“Nilugnot ni siya but pwerte namong layog kay nag-commotion na man elusive man kaayo ni siya sa pulis,” Sucalit explained the suspect’s contusion.

Commission on Human Rights-7 director Alejandro Alonso Jr. said that the injury is justified if it was a result of the suspect’s resisting arrest.

Kilme is temporarily detained at the Consolacion Police Station pending his turnover to Pagadian City.  (FREEMAN)
