Call center agent survives murder try

CEBU, Philippines - A female call center agent sustained multiple stab wounds after her drunk neighbor barged into her rented room in Barangay San Nicolas Tuesday dawn and started to attack her with a kitchen knife.

The police believe that rape could have been the motive of Zaldy Mark Guanita, 23, in assaulting the 24-year-old victim. The victim whose name withheld by The Freeman, however, told the police that there was no attempt from the suspect to rape her.

The victim said she was awaken at 2:30 a.m. because of the noise outside her door prompting her to check it. According to the victim, upon seeing her door opened, the suspect forced himself in and pushed her against the wall.

The suspect then covered the victim’s mouth with his hand but the victim bit it to free herself. The suspect then punched the victim in the stomach and started stabbing her several times.

The commotion has awakened the victim’s aunt, who occupies the adjacent room, prompting the latter to check what it was all about. The victim’s aunt saw the suspect with a bloodied kitchen knife.

Guanita left the victim and tried to escape but was later arrested by responding barangay tanods Ronaldo Quijano, Alex Bicbic and Allan Cabillo. A seven-inch knife was recovered from the suspect.
