CPPO disallows holiday break

CEBU, Philippines - No policeman in Cebu Province is allowed to go on leave effective yesterday until January 10 next year to ensure police visibility during the holidays.

Cebu Provincial Police Office director Patrocinio Comendador issued the directive to see to it that there will be enough policemen to maintain the peace and order of the entire province during Christmas and New Year revelries.

“Kung family affair okay ra mo-attend if off nila pero if duty nila, duty gyud sila or else they will be charged,” Comendador told The FREEMAN.

Comendador explained that those will fail to report for duty will be marked absent without official leave or AWOL and will be placed under investigation.

Danao City police chief Ricky Delelis said that all policemen in the province are bound to follow the directive. He said leave is a privilege of every policeman that may be disallowed if necessary.

“Policemen may enjoy the break but this time police visibility is highly needed especially in places vulnerable for crimes,” Delelis said.

Alcoy police chief Reyco Romaguera said they will enforce the directive from the provincial headquarters.

“Dili unfair namo ang kamanduan kay naa sad mi rural banks diri ug pawnshops nga kinahanglan sad og police visibility,” Romaguera said. — (FREEMAN)
