Rep. Quisumbing spends P80M on infra

CEBU, Philippines - Sixth district Rep. Luigi Quisumbing has already poured more or less P80 million from his Priority Development Fund as of September this year to finance different infrastructure projects including school buildings in his district which comprises Mandaue City and the towns of Consolacion and Cordova.

Based on the data furnished to The FREEMAN, Quisumbing has completed a total of P44,676,834.82 worth infrastructure projects in the said areas.

Of the said amount, the biggest chunk went to Mandaue City with P27,954,984.97 followed by Consolacion with P16,075,760.31 and Cordova with P6,456,089.54.

In Mandaue City, the construction of two classrooms and six classrooms in Pagsabungan Elementary School and Subangdaku Elementary School, respectively, has been completed.

Also in Mandaue, Quisumbing completed the repairs and rehabilitation of F. Cabahug to M. Logarta Road, Hernan Cortes Road, multi-purpose building of Paknaan Elementary School and Comprehensive National High School, rehabilitation of Cebu North Road (from Subangdaku to Consolacion’s Church), asphalt overlay and repair of Canduman road as well as the repair and maintenance of flood control structures at the Butuanon Bridge.

In Consolacion, the completed projects include the multi-purpose building of Tayud Elementary School, repair and rehabilitation of the Cebu North Hagnaya Wharf road and concreting of the Jugan-Tayud barangay road.

In Cordova, the completed projects included the repair and rehabilitation of the Mactan Circumferential Cordova section, repair and rehabilitation of the classrooms in Ibabao, Day-as and Pilipog elementary schools as well as the repair and maintenance of flood control structures at Pilipog Bridge. 

Quisumbing’s ongoing projects amounted to P32,021,952.55 where Mandaue City still has the biggest share in the amount of P15,495,916.36; Cordova has P12,916,590.21 and Consolacion with P3,609,445.98.

In Mandaue City, ongoing projects include the construction of  two classrooms and one classroom in Canduman and Opao elementary schools, respectively as well as the repair and rehabilitation of roads in barangay Banilad, construction of drainage facilities in the  barangays of  Maguikay, Guizo, Subangdaku and A.C. Cortes Avenue.

Ongoing projects in Consolacion include the construction of a two -storey classroom at Lamac Elementary School and the construction of drainage facilities at Cansaga.  

While in Cordova, Quisumbing’s projects include the maintenance, rehabilitation and improvement of the National Arterial road, repair and maintenance of flood control structures and the repair and rehabilitation of the Mactan Circumferential Road.

Other projects that are up for bidding includes the improvement, repair and rehabilitation of barangay Polog road in Consolacion and the construction of drainage, manhole, curbs, gutters and concrete sidewalks at the Cebu North Hagnaya Wharf Road. — (FREEMAN)
