CPPO to serve 200 warrants per month

- Ria Mae Y. Booc -

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Police Office is confident it can serve 200 warrants of arrest within a month as directed by the new PNP Chief Nicanor Bartolome.

CPPO Director Senior Supt. Patrocinio Comendador said in order to comply with the directive he will be calling on each station to serve at least two warrants a month.

“Sayon ra man na, kaya ra na namo tungod sa kadako sa among area,” he said yesterday.

Cebu Province has 44 municipalities and six component cities identified as Toledo, Danao, Talisay, Carcar, Naga and Bogo. It also has a total of 1,066 barangays.

Bartolome recently ordered the arrest of at least 200 wanted persons in each province monthly as part of the police effort to improve peace and order.

Bartolome said that the PNP will become more effective if provincial offices will be able to account 150 to 200 wanted persons each. He also instructed all 16 regional directors to intensify the deployment of their respective Motorized Anti-Street Crime Operatives and the Police Integrated Patrol System.

Police Regional Office-7 Director Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo Jr., said that 200 might not be the average number but it is only a baseline number because the Camp Crame is still studying if they will lessen or add the number.

Garbo said that Bartolome already formulated targets which will be accomplished by different regional and provincial offices in the entire country.

“Yung 200 kulang pa ‘yan because I know municipal police stations could really do more than that,” he said.

He added that with this directive warrant servers in every station will become more efficient in their jobs.

Garbo is also directing the provincial headquarter to conduct a command conference once a month and city headquarters should conduct weekly discussions about security and other concerns. —/BRP - (THE FREEMAN)
