'Customer' says he killed woman

- Ria Mae Y. Booc -

CEBU, Philippines - An alleged commercial sex worker was found dead on a river bank in Barangay Pangdan, Naga City yesterday morning. The woman was reportedly killed by her customer, who lost P500.

The suspect, who was identified as Alfredo Largo, 27, was arrested at his residence in Barangay Haginit of the same city.

He said that he lost his cool when he could not find his P500 after he had sex with the woman, who is known only as Kim.

Nobody could yet give the victim’s real name.

Her body was found lying on the river bank by residents of the barangay, who immediately sought police assistance.

The victim was found to have wounds on her left eyebrow and mouth.

The victim did not have anything on from waist down but was wearing a white blouse and had a rose tattoo on her belly.

The body was brought to the St. Francis Funeral Homes along N. Bacalso Ave., Cebu City.

Tryst

Largo said that he was having drinks at the Baywalk in Barangay East Poblacion last Wednesday night as he just received his pay from being a construction worker in Barangay Apas, Cebu City.

He said that Kim joined him for drinks and later agreed to have sex with him for P200.

The two were brought to a remote area in Barangay Pangdan by Ritchie Canomon, a motorcycle-for-hire driver.

It was also Canomon, who identified Largo that led to the suspect’s arrest.

According to Insp. Christopher Castro, deputy of the Naga City Police Station, Largo said that Kim was about to get dressed when he noticed that the remaining P500 in his pants was gone prompting him to confront her.

Since the girl vehemently denied having the money, Largo got irked and pulled her towards the river and allegedly drowned her.

The suspect, the reportedly took the P200 he paid the victim as well as her cellular phone.

Castro also told The FREEMAN that there were scratches on Largo’s neck and chest, which could mean that the victim tried to resist.

Chief Insp. Timmar Alam, Naga police chief, also said that they are still looking for the pants as well as the victim’s shoes, which could help them identify her.

“Ambot hain iyang sapatos kay nag-medyas paman hasta ang lower garments basin naanod o gitaguan kay wa man ngadto,” Alam said.

Alam said that if “Kim” was able to shout for help nobody could immediately hear her because the residential area is about several meters away from the place of incident.

Alam said they are also looking into the possibility of filing rape charges against Largo.

“I-check pa namo if dunay force kay aron rape among ma-file sa iya,” Alam said. Police described the victim to be 5’1” tall, with shoulder-length hair, fair complexion, and of medium built.

Regret

Largo, who is now detained at the Naga City police stockade, said he is sorry for killing the woman.

“Pwerte akong pagmahay,” he said.

Largo’s wife, Angeline, is now pregnant with their third child and is due to deliver the baby this December.

She was very angry at her husband when she went to the police station. —/NLQ (FREEMAN)
