World half a million Househelp takes away money and valuables

CEBU, Philippines - Mandaue city Vice –Mayor Glenn Bercede’s cousin lost an estimated half a million pesos in cash and personal stuff after they were carted away by their house help yesterday dawn at sitio Pinetree in Barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.

Norman Bercede Perez, reported to the Casuntingan police station yesterday morning that Shiela Bacena, their house help who has been with them for barely four days, was no longer in their house when the theft was discovered at 4 am yesterday.

He said they hired the said house help from “Your Source Consultancy and Manpower Services located at Barangay Centro in Mandaue City .

PO1 Roche Cabra of the Casuntingan police said they tried to locate the house help in Barangay Lipata in Minglanilla town.

They later learned that the suspect was a resident of Barangay Lipata in Surigao city .

Among the cash and items which the suspect carted away were P20,000 cash , $1,500 cash, 200 Hongkong dollars,100 New Zealand dollars, 200 Singapore dollars, 2 PSPs worth P20,000, a Gameboy worth P4,000, imported clothes worth P5,000, two Adidas backpacks worth P2,000, imported perfumes worth P40,000 and three Timex watches.

Authorities are now coordinating with other police units for the possible arrest of the suspect. – (FREEMAN)
