Man shot dead in Compostela

- Mechievilla Carline Benolerao -

CEBU, Philippines -A man was shot dead at Poblacion, Compostela Wednesday night by a still unidentified man who was riding on a motorcycle.

That same evening, a man was also hacked to death in Carmen, Toledo City.

Based on the investigation conducted by the Compostela police, Jordan Pumar of Cogon, Compostela was talking with his live-in partner, Kimberly Casuna, and some friends outside their business establishment unaware that it was to be his last moments alive.

When Pumar got inside the establishment, a man standing nearby followed him and shot him once.

The assailant immediately fled with an accomplice who was waiting on board a motorcycle.

But before they sped off, the motorcycle driver instructed the gunman to “finish” the job so the gunman disembarked and shot Pumar again.

Pumar was declared dead on arrival upon reaching Danao City Hospital.

The investigators found an empty shell of caliber 45 at the crime scene.

Meanwhile in Toledo City, 21-year-old Benjie Caño died from several hack wounds.

Witnesses told police investigators that Caño was near their house with Fernan Olita when Olita’s son suddenly came.

Olita allegedly pushed his son and Caño reproached him for doing so.

Olita then brought his child to their house but later came back with a bolo and hacked Caño several times.

The victim was rushed to the Toledo City General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The suspect fled right after the incident.

Investigators said the two were under the influence of alcohol. (FREEMAN)
