Salaries of CITOM men delayed
CEBU, Philippines - Over 500 casual personnel of Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (CITOM) have not received their salaries for the first half of the month.
CITOM executive director Rafael Yap said the delay was caused by the unsubmitted appointment letters of these employees.
Appointment letters for CITOM casual employees expired on June 30. The delay affected most of its 562 employees.
Earlier this month, Yap has issued a letter informing all CITOM employees of the delay.
“We do address all concern and we are trying our best to inform them of the problem,” he said.
But he assured that all appointment letters have already been submitted to the Cebu City Human Resources Development Office (HRDO).
“Kasabot ra pud sila (employees), given sa political problem sa City Hall,” he said.
Yap said he told his employees to be patient since he is doing his best to hasten the release of their salaries.
He assured that the salaries will be released next week, promising that the same problem will not happen in the future.
Aside from the normal six months, the city has added three months to casual employees’ contract starting July 1. — (FREEMAN)
