Woman mauls, stabs ex-lover

CEBU, Philippines - An 18-year-old woman was arrested after she and a male companion mauled and stabbed her ex-lover in Barangay Banilad last Monday evening.

Hanna Gil Lesin was arrested by the responding policemen from Mabolo Police Station after she was positively identified by witnesses as one of those who mauled and stabbed Mark Valencia, 21.

Valencia is said to be Lesin’s former boyfriend. Initial investigation shows that Valencia left Lesin for another girl which could have prompted the attack.

Valencia had fetched his new girlfriend from school and was walking along M.J. Cuenco Avenue when Lesin and a certain Dayl attacked him from behind.

Valencia reportedly managed to run away from his attackers despite the injuries and the stab wound he sustained. He was immediately brought to a private hospital in Banilad but was later transferred to Cebu City Medical Center.

Lesin is now detained at the Mabolo Police Station while waiting for the filing of the formal complaint. Her companion remains at large. — (FREEMAN)
