Tomas gives aid to fire victims
CEBU, Philippines - Victims of fire incidents in three barangays received assistance from Cebu City South District Rep.Tomas Osmeña.
Last July 9, hundreds of individuals were displaced after a two-hour blaze struck in Tejero, followed by another in Mambaling. Days after, thousands also lost their houses when a fire hit Punta Princesa.
Osmeña and his wife, Councilor Margarita “Margot” Osmeña, distributed cash assistance and sacks of rice to the victims of fire in Barangay Tejero at the Tejero Sports Complex yesterday afternoon.
House sharers and renters got P500, owners of destroyed houses received P3,000 while owners of damaged houses were given P2,000.
Total amount to be released for Mambaling is P76,000 while for Tejero, P383,000. Each family in both barangays also gets one sack of rice.
As for Punta Princesa, Osmeña said he will be distributing their assistance on Thursday.
Cebu City North District Rep. Rachel “Cutie” del Mar already distributed financial assistance to the families affected by the fire in Tejero. — (FREEMAN)
