Two people killed in shootings

CEBU, Philippines - An alleged female drug pusher was gunned down by a lone gunman in sitio Villagonzalo 2, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City shortly before noon yesterday. Agnes Leah Montebon, alias Negra, 45, died of two gunshot wounds in her chest.

PO3 Wetzel Berry said the victim was walking along Ariola Street to buy food when a man shot her twice.

Policemen from Mobile Patrol Group led by Insp. Rex Campos took the victim to the Cebu City Medical Center but she died on the way to the hospital.

The Crime Scene Investigation Unit recovered two empty shells of caliber .45 pistol and a slug of the same caliber from the crime scene.

The police said illegal drugs may have been the motive behind the murder. Cebu City Police Office director Melvin Ramon Buenafe said the business on illegal drugs in the city is getting weaker because of their campaign against it.

“Nagkahuot na ang ilang mundo,” Buenafe said.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead in Barangay Carreta Tuesday evening.

The victim, a certain “Caloy,” was seen lifeless with gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

According to police investigation, the victim was playing billiard before the incident.

When he went out to buy a cigarette at a nearby store an unidentified man shot him several times. —(FREEMAN)
