Pique slay panel now has findings

CEBU, Philippines - The three-man panel that is looking into the complaint filed against Bella Ruby Santos and British national Ian Charles Griffiths over the kidnapping and killing of six-year-old Ellah Joy Pique has already come up with the findings of the case.

But prosecutor Maria Luisa Ong refused to disclose their findings, saying they have yet to finalize everything.

Ong said they are still evaluating the motion filed by lawyer Rameses Villagonzalo, counsel of Santos and Griffiths, seeking for the dismissal of the complaint.

In his motion, Villagonzalo said during the viewing of the USB on June 10, the court and police found no nude pictures and videos of kids and adults.

Senior Supt Patrocinio Comendador earlier stated that there were more than 200 pictures of girls found in the USB seized from Santos’ house.

Villagonzalo said Comendador’s statements “were only bluff and a misinformation geared to demonize herein respondents.”

Villagonzalo said the USB that was viewed last June 10 was owned by Santos’ technician, Robert Presbitero.

“Robert Presbitero is the owner of the USB who has sideline income by way of getting digital photographing of school ID pictures and that is why the said USB contains 100 2X2 picture files of high school students,” he said.

Villagonzalo said the USB also contains cartoons, ice crime, among others, that are contrary to the statement of Comendador.

He also asked why the Criminal Investigation and Detective Group (CIDG) failed to reveal the DNA analysis of the blood samples taken from the Pajero and the house of Santos.

“Is it not a fact that the blood samples turned out to be negative and not that of Ellah Joy’s and S. Supt. Comendador found it safe not to attach negative results of the DNA test because it will further weaken their case?” he asked.

Villagonzalo is confident that his clients are innocent of the crime. — (FREEMAN)
