Burglars stole Korean's cash, Valuables

- Mechievilla Carline Benolerao -

CEBU, Philippines - A condominium unit of a Korean citizen at Nasipit, Talamban Cebu City was burglarized yesterday morning.

Park Jae Hyun, 38, of Pete’s Condoville lost his wallet containing $700, P25,000 and other valuables including driver’s license, Korean credit cards and BDO ATM cards. The wallet itself was worth $200.

The victim said he and his wife woke up that morning and found his wallet gone. Based on the investigation, the burglar climbed the building and forcibly opened the sliding window. Once inside, the perpetrator destroyed the knob of the master’s bedroom where the couple was sleeping.

The burglar went out the same way he got in – the window.

According to the police who investigated the incident, the place has a hidden camera. It recorded, at around 1 a.m, an unknown man estimated to be in his 20s wearing t-shirt and jeans went inside the unit.

The police are still investigating the case further.

In another incident, a deaf-mute was robbed by his textmate last Sunday evening in barangay Poblacion Occidental, Consolacion.

Police said 20-year-old Heidi Ytang of barangay Pulpogan was meeting her textmate, a certain Jojo, in barangay Poblacion.

But when he arrived, instead of introducing himself to Ytang, he suddenly grabbed her shoulder bag containing her P200 cash, make-up kit, and a cellular phone charger and fled on foot.

A concerned citizen who saw what happened accompanied Ytang to the Consolacion Police Station to report the incident. - (THE FREEMAN)
