Woman sued for extortion

CEBU, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation filed robbery extortion charges before the City Prosecutor’s Office against a woman who allegedly demanded money from her American ex-boyfriend.

Ancy Dieto, 21, from Pitogo, Ubay, Bohol, was arrested by the NBI-7 through an entrapment operation inside a hotel in Cebu City.

Dieto was arrested after receiving the P2 million in exchange for not posting the nude pictures and private videos of her ex-boyfriend John Bryan on the Internet.

Bryan earlier reported the matter to the NBI Manila but the central office referred him to the NBI-7 Cebu.

NBI agent Rey Villordon said they arrested Dieto and her friend Valerie Dagohoy around 3:30 p.m. last Wednesday. The money was recovered from Dieto.

During the filing of the complaint before City Prosecutor’s Office Dagohoy was not included in the charges.

Earlier, Dieto released a statement that she was only framed. She added that Bryan’s secretary called her up telling her that they will meet in the hotel only to find she was being arrested by the NBI.

Dieto said she never asked for money but Bryan offered her P2 million in exchange for not posting the pictures on the Internet. (FREEMAN)
