- Ria Mae Y. Booc -

CEBU, Philippines - The Catmon police released the artist’s sketch of one of the robbers who attacked 22-year-old Rommel Arigo in sitio Labangon, barangay Binongkalan, Catmon.

Police said Arigo remembers the man’s face because he was the one who hogtied him.

Hogtied with his mouth taped inside his house, Arigo was robbed of cash and valuables amounting to P636,000 last Monday evening.

Senior Police Officer 2 Elvis Arche, Catmon police investigator, told The FREEMAN that they sent copies of the artist’s sketch to the police stations as well as bakeshops, gasoline stations, and banks.

The robber is described to be more than 30 years old, 5’8” tall, has a dark complexion, with deep set eyes, high cheek bones, and has a scar below his right eye.

Arigo was inside his house when the four robbers arrived and introduced themselves as policemen. Two of them had handguns and suddenly mauled and threatened him.

The two others hogtied him with a nylon rope and taped his mouth.

The men took his Rado wristwatch worth P15,000, 2 local wristwatches worth P1,000, a platinum bar, a gold necklace worth P20,000 and P600,000 worth of cash in different denominations.

Arigo said the robbers abandoned him in a hole a few meters away from his house.

Arche said Arigo managed to loosen the nylon rope in his feet and rushed to the police station.

“Makab-ot ra man niya ang iyang tiil naningkamot siya makagawas ug makabadbad sa hikot ug gapos,” he said.

Nobody saw the incident since Arigo’s house was almost three kilometers away from the barangay road of sitio Rocky Hills, barangay Fuente. —
