Man shot dead in Argao
CEBU, Philippines - A 25-year-old man was shot dead yesterday dawn by still unidentified assailant in Barangay Talaga, Argao.
Police identified the victim as Nikki Sawey Cañete, resident of the said place. Cañete had just arrived home from a benefit dance in the nearby Barangay Balisong when a motorcycle-riding gunman shot him several times.
Cañete sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body. Police investigators found six empty shells of Caliber 45 pistol at the crime scene.
Argao police chief Alejandro Batobalonos said that before the incident the victim allegedly had an altercation with somebody over a billiard game.
“Wa lang magkauyon sa ilang pusta unya nanggawas na ang estorya nga bati hangtod naabot sa hulga,” Batobalonos said.
Batobalonos said they are looking into the incident as possible motive of the killing.
“Murag dakog kalagot ang nagpusil niya so possible nga dunay laing kontra,” he said. – (FREEMAN)
